Basketball Program Update
We're well into the season, and our basketball program shows fantastic promise!
U19 Boys' Triumph:
Our U19 boys are in spectacular form, marking a dominant victory over Kildare Town CS. The duo, Wilfred and Stefan, showcased their prowess by topping the points chart. This success isn't just from one game; it's the outcome of tireless training sessions held every morning since the beginning of the year. It's heartening to see players also putting in extra hours after school and seizing every opportunity to train in the sports hall.
U16 Boys' Learning Curve:
Facing a formidable team in their sole match, our U16 boys may not have clinched the win, but they certainly garnered valuable experience. They now have a clearer understanding of the standard of basketball at their age grade.
U19 Girls' Shining Performance:
Our U19 girls have achieved silver medals twice in their two opening matches. With continuous practice, we're optimistic they'll be vying for gold in their upcoming fixtures.
Spotlight on U16 Girls:
Last year's regional finalists, the U16 girls, are in the limelight. Can they outdo their previous achievement this year? Their dedication is evident in their consistent training, focusing on screenplays, passing drills, and shooting techniques. The unity in their team is palpable: they epitomise the essence of teamwork, supporting and greeting each other at every encounter.
While our players don the school jerseys and shorts, we encourage them to wear a personal touch to every game. After all, when they're on the court, they're not just representing our school but ambassadors for themselves, their families, clubs, and communities.
