Wider Options
What is Wider Options?
This is a one year mature adult education programme, ideally suited to people who have been in the home for a number of years and wish to return to employment, those working in minimum-wage jobs who wish to progress their career, mature people who left school early without a formal qualification, people with school going children who wish to do something for themselves and people who have moved here from another country who wish to have their qualifications fomalised. The Course provides an introduction to the main areas of business theory and training in the relevant computer practices used in the modern office/business environment.

Testimonials
“I completed the Wider Options Course in 2018/2019 after being a stay at home mam for 13 years. It gave me the skills and confidence to get back into the workplace and I have since got a job after I finished the course. Couldn’t recommend it more highly. Made some great friends and have very fond memories of my time in St. Conleth’s Community College.” Lisa Harte, Wider Options 2018/2019

"I had a really great year, thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.  I'm delighted to have chosen and completed the Wider Options course.   It's had a few challenges, but I reckon if I couldn't handle them doing the course I wouldn't be able ready for a job in the outside world.  By doing the course I've updated my previous office skills, learned new skills and I've gained so much confidence by completing the work experience module.  I have achieved what I set out to do, and enjoyed the challenge, and met some really good friends in the process." Sandra Coleman, Wider Options 2019/2020

“The Wider Options course is especially for those who have children or have a busy lifestyle and haven't studied in a long time, that was my case, and I was very nervous when I started the course, but even with no experience in Ireland and very poor English, I felt very welcome by the teachers and got my confidence back. The teachers are very professional and have always tried to help us to achieve our goals. Especially this year, with the Covid situation, we could see how hard the teachers have worked to try to minimize the situation and the impact on us. I am very happy to have had the opportunity to take this course and I couldn’t recommend it more.” Andreia Santana Wider Options 2019/2020

"WIDER OPTIONS is not just about getting through a course it is about more than that,
Getting out of a rut
Brighter future
Meeting people
Building your confidence and of course getting a job" Liz Smyth, Wider Options 2019/2020.
